We’re off and running...ready to promote a healthy lifestyle at any age! People age 55 and over are invited to participate in a wide variety of activities which can help them reach - even exceed - their fitness goals at the 2008 Senior Games, June 16th-20th. Hundreds of seniors from around the area will come to show the world that it’s never too late to start living healthy, active lives. Games for this year will include a golf scramble, bowling, euchre, bingo, miniature golf, ping-pong, pool, shuffleboard, darts, football toss, horseshoes, croquet, softball throw, 3-on-3 basketball, basketball free throw, walk race, pancake race, paper airplane toss, and back by popular demand...corn hole! Entry fee is $8 per person which includes participation in any events, a total of four meals, a 2008 Senior Games t-shirt, Olympic-style medallions awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each event, complimentary gift bags filled with information and items from sponsors and area businesses, and door prizes awarded every day at every event. Additional fees for some events may apply. But most importantly, the fun and friendships that develop as a result of the Games is the greatest reward of all! Changes for this year includes moving the horsehoes competition for both men and women to Thursday morning and the 3-on-3 basketball competition to Friday morning. Both events will be held at the Richmond Senior Community Center. Registration forms will be available in May at area senior centers, Neighborhood Meal Sites, event venues, sponsor locations, and the Richmond and Connersville offices of Area 9 Agency. For more information, contact Judy Ford, Beth Evans, or Kathy Bridgford at 966-1795 or 1-800-458-9345. |
