What does IU East collect from forms I fill out online?
Some of our web content involves the use of forms. These forms are used for registration, obvious data collection (voting, opinion responses, blog comments, etc.), and also, rarely, we will process data to pass it off to a third party (ie. Flickr).
In addition to the form fields you complete, we will also often collect your IU Username (if you were prompted for a "Central Authentication Service" login) and / or IP address, as well as the date/time the form was submitted. This data is strictly for internal purposes only, and is used either for identification (in the case of blog comments, opinion responses, and registration) or to ensure that your submission is unique (in the case of voting).
For your own security, please be sure that you completely close you browser when you are finished, especially if you logged in through Central Authentication Service.
What about Google Analytics?

Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including possibly your IP address, 184.108.40.206) will be transmitted to and stored by Google.
