If you complete a minor or concentration in Anthropology, you will have a greater knowledge of the theories, concepts, and methods used by Anthropologists in the study of human cultures. Introductory Anthropology courses, A103 and A104, introduce you to the basic concepts and methods of the discipline. Additional courses will expand on this basic knowledge into important sub-areas of the field. You choose the additional courses with flexibility to meet your specific interests. The Independent Study in Anthropology, A495 capstone course, offers an experience in which students utilize the concepts and methodology of the discipline in supervised studies. You will demonstrate your knowledge and skills in a field experience paper or presentation. To receive an AA degree with concentration in Anthropology, you need to successfully complete A103 and A104 plus three additional Anthropology courses at 200 level or above. The Minor in Anthropology requires 16 hours of course work with a C (2.0) or better in each Anthropology class.
