If You are a Current or Returning Student

If you are interested in enrolling in a distance learning degree program, go to the FAQ page to take the Distance Learning Readiness Survey.  Also read the "How to be a Successful Distance Education Student" and "9 Myths about Taking Courses Online" that included in the Student Resources page.

You must be officially admitted into the program even though you are already an IU East student. Contact the appropriate academic division to enroll.

Once enrolled, you will be assigned an academic advisor. Set up an appointment with your advisor. Your advisor will work with you to formulate a study plan. A "Welcome Package for Distance Learning Students" will be mailed to you. Review all information in the package.

After you finalized your study plan, you may register classes using Student Information Systems (SIS) via OneStart. Note that you must have a current Indiana University network account to access OneStart. Your IU email account is the official communication channel between you and IU East. Check your IU email account regularly.

IU East uses a course management system for all distance education courses. If you are registered, go to OnCourse for a tutorial. Throughout the year, you may check your grades and financial aids using Student Information Systems via OneStart.

Visit the Technical Requirements page and make sure that you have the right equipment and software. You must have an Internet connect to access the courses.

Order your textbooks online through IU East Bookstore.

Check the academic calendar. Be ready to sign into your class on the first day of the school.
