ASN Admission Requirements
Most students begin nursing as a pre-nursing student. There are two applications needed to pursue a degree in nursing. First, you must apply to Indiana University East for admission through the Office of Admissions . You can apply for any semester to begin required general education courses that will apply to your degree. You will work with a pre-nursing advisor in the Academic Advising Center for program planning and beginning course work.
Each Spring Semester, applications for the various nursing programs are available from the pre-nursing advisor. Applications for the Nursing program are due March 1. Students are notified of admission to the program by June 15. A new group of students begins the ASN program every Fall Semester.
Admission to the ASN major is highly competitive. Taking the general education courses does not guarantee you a position in the nursing major courses.
