RN to BSN Admission Requirements

Registered nurses seeking admission ot the Indiana University School of Nursing must apply to the campus which they wish to attend. A valid Indiana Registered Nurse License is required for enrollment into the nursing courses. Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations are required upon enrollment in nursing major courses. Unless otherwise specified, all School of Nursing policies pertinent to BSN program majors also apply to registered nurse undergraduate students.

Currently Enrolled IU Students / Graduates

As an IU ASN graduate, you will not need to be re-admitted to the University. When you begin the program, contact the Academic Advising Center (765-973-8235) to schedule an appointment with the pre-nursing advisor to review your credits, complete an individual program plan, and register for the appropriate courses.

Transfer Students

As a student transferring from an institution other than IU, you may call IU East Admissions (765-973-8208) and request an application for admission to Indiana University East, or you may apply online. Complete the application form and enclose a $25 application fee. Contact your high school and any institutions of higher learning that you have attended to request than official transcript be sent to:

Once you have been admitted to IU East, the Office of Admissions will evaluate your college transcript. Y ou will receive a "Credit Transfer Report" (CTR) from the Office of Admissions. At that time, please make an appointment with the pre-nursing advisor to review your credits, complete an individual program plan, and register for appropriate courses.
