Resolution of Complaints
Indiana University East is committed to a policy of fair treatment of its students in their relationships with fellow students, faculty, staff and administrators. In the event of a problem, students are encouraged to seek an informal resolution of the matter directly with the faculty or individual(s) involved when possible. For matters where an informal resolution is not feasible, a Complaint Form can be used to initiate that process. The complaint form must be completed and emailed (firstname.lastname@example.org) or mailed to:
Indiana University East
2325 Chester Blvd,
Whitewater Hall – Room 101
Richmond, Indiana 47374
The completed complaint form will be reviewed by the Dean of Students and forwarded to the appropriate office based on the subject matter.
- Example 1: If the complaint is against a student for violation of the Code of Student Conduct, the complaint will be addressed by the Dean of Students.
- Example 2: If the complaint alleges discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, the complaint will be forwarded to Director of the Office of Affirmative Action.
- Example 3: If the subject matter is an academic complaint, the complaint will be addressed by the appropriate school dean in consultation with the Chief Academic Officer and/or Dean of Students.
