New Student Orientation Information
- All new Freshman Students are required to complete the English Guided Self-Placement survey at http://www.iue.edu/hss/english/placement/. Once you have completed this survey your results will be sent to the Writing Director and Academic Advisor.
- Check-in - Check-in is between 8:00am and 8:30am. The New Student Orientation program will begin promptly at 8:30am.
- Directions - Driving directions can be found on the IU East web site at http://www.iue.edu/maps.shtml. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to Springwood Hall as shown on the enclosed map.
- Your 10-digit University ID Number - Your 10-digit ID number can be found in your acceptance letter. Please write your ID number down and keep this information with you for New Student Orientation and future reference.
- Activate your IU e-mail account - Prior to New Student Orientation, visit http://onestart.iu.edu, Click on “Don’t have an Account” to set up your username and Passphrase. Activating your account requires your 10-digit university number ID number. You will need to have your username and Passphrase established and with you to register during New Student Orientation.
- Photo ID - Please bring photo identification with you. A photo ID (e.g. Drivers license) will be required to create you student ID card.
- Academic Interests - Please let us know if you wish to change your major or declare a major field of study. Your New Student Orientation and registration group is organized by your intended major. Please call 765-973-8208 to report any changes.
- Lunch- will be served as part of the orientation program. Bring your appetite!
- Remember - The New Student Orientation program will last the entire time. Check-in is from 8:00-8:30am and the program will last until 2:30pm. Registration is the last session of the day. Please make sure you are able to stay and complete the entire program.
