Quick Start

Setting up your Student Account

itaccounts.iu.edu

If you haven't done so already, please follow the above link to set up your IU username and passphrase.

One.IU

www.one.iu.edu

One.IU provides easy access to services such as personal calendaring, registering for classes, managing Bursar payments, viewing Financial Aid, reading e-mail, browsing the Library catalog, reading campus news, browsing the student classifieds, and more..

Canvas

www.canvas.iu.edu

Indiana University East utilizes Canvas as the course management platform for online courses. To access Canvas, you will need to login using your IU username and passphrase.

IUE offers a FREE online orientation to Canvas called the Online Campus Prep Course. This is an intro level training that familiarizes students with the Canvas platform prior to the beginning of a semester. To enroll in the Online Campus Prep Course, please register at http://www.iue.edu/onlinecampus/prep/.

Should you experience any problems using Canvas, please contact the Center for Teaching and Learning at 765/973-8561 or via e-mail at iuetlc@indiana.edu.

Textbooks

Books can be purchased from our online bookstore.

Simply use the drop-down menus to select the term, subject area, and section number of your class.

You may also use the View/Order Textbooks link that appears in your Student Center, within One.IU.

Should you choose to use Amazon or another similar vendor to purchase your textbooks, ensure that you have the following course information for each of your courses: Department (Ex: BUS-W); Number (Ex: 301); Section (Ex: 14333).

Help Desk

If it’s a computer issue (i.e., “I have a virus,” or “My e-mail won’t work”), the Help Desk is your first stop.

IUWare

www.iuware.iu.edu

IU East offers ample free software to get your computer ready for the semester. Before you buy anything, please check out the above link. Chances are, you will be able to find what you need for FREE!

Wolf Card

The Wolf Card is the official university identification card for students, faculty and staff. Besides needing your Wolf Card to identify yourself as a member of the campus community, you will need your Wolf Card to:

  • Participate in the Personal Dining Plan
  • Check out a library book
  • Attend sporting events
  • Utilize the Flexible Pre-Paid Account
  • Make photocopies (using your printing allotment)
  • Purchase textbooks
  • Receive student discounts

On-campus students will have their Wolf Card processed in the Campus Life Office in Springwood Hall. Distance Education students will have their Wolf Card processed by their Student Success Coach upon registration.

Viewing Your Unofficial Transcript

Prior to your advising appointment, take a moment to review your unofficial transcript to ensure that all transfer credits have posted to your account. You can get a copy of your unofficial transcript using the “Unofficial Transcript” app in One.IU (one.iu.edu).

Returning Students

Whether you have been away for one year or twenty, we are excited that you are ready to return to IU East, and we want to help you accomplish your educational goals. If you have been out less than one year (two semesters - exception of summer terms) or are returning from military leave, you do not need to apply for re-admittance, but instead you may contact the Office of Student Records for reactivation. All other returning students should follow the below link for more detailed instructions.

EZ Deposit

EZ Deposit is a convenient way to make a deposit to your Wolf Card account before the start of a semester so you will have funds readily available for use at the IU East Official Bookstore. You can purchase the textbooks, course materials and other items you may need for the semester. Your EZ Deposit will then be billed to your Bursar account where it may be paid with financial aid (Title IV form must be signed), scholarships, grants, or any other method of payment accepted by the Bursar Office.
