Since 1994, the IU East Alumni Association has proudly awarded nearly $50.000 dollars in scholarships to IU East students. Beginning this spring, two $1,000 scholarships will be designated “Pride of the Pack” legacy scholarships to be award to one first year and one returning student whose parents or grandparents are IU East graduates. In addition to the “Pride of the Pack” scholarships, we will continue to award a $1,000 scholarship in honor of the former director of alumni relations, Bette G. Davenport, as well as our traditional alumni scholarships.
“Pride of the Pack” Scholarships
- $1,000 for one first year student
- $1,000 for one returning student
Awarded to a child or grandchild of an alumnus or alumna of Indiana University East. A letter of recommendation must be submitted by the alumnus or alumna to the Director of Alumni Relations.
The purposes of the scholarship are to help ease the strain of college expenses, reward an accomplished student, and recognize legacy families for continuing the IU East tradition.
Bette G. Davenport Alumni Scholarship
- Estimated amount $1,000
Awarded to one full-time or part-time student who attained/maintains a GPA of 2.5. Preference given to relatives of current or former IUEAA board members, applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from an IU East Alumni Association current or former board member to the Director of Alumni Relations at IU East. Established to honor Bette G. Davenport who served as the IU East Director of Alumni Relations until July 2004.
May be awarded to a first time or returning student.
IU East Alumni Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in six to twelve credit hours per semester, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. High School grade point average will be used for incoming freshmen. Preference shall be given to students who have a family member who is an Indiana University East alumnus. Applicants must submit a statement describing their future plans and why they should receive this scholarship, a letter of recommendation from an Indiana University alumnus to Director of Alumni Relations at IU East. The number, amount, and recipients of the Scholarship will be determined by the Scholarship Committee of Indiana University East, in consultation with a representative of the IU East Alumni Association.
IU Alumni Association Scholars
- Estimated Amount: $1,000 scholarships
Known at the IUAA Scholars and supported by fees collected from the sale of IU’s collegiate license plate – the most popular collegiate plate in Indiana, these scholarships are available to sons or daughters of MEMBERS of the IUAA. One scholarship will be designated for a qualifying student (full-time, undergraduate) from each of IU’s eight campuses. The remainder will be awarded to students on an at-large basis. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need an academic achievement as determined by the Office of Student information and Fiscal Services.
Preference will be given to students who have not received a scholarship in the prior years.
