Program/Service Notes:
We provide educational awareness of disabilities through school and community activities. The Awareness of Individual Differences Program travels to first and fourth grade classes throughout Wayne and Union Counties to help children without disabilities obtain an awareness of and sensitivity to their peers with disabilities. This is done through puppets, videos, books, games, and other activities. Easter Seals organizes socially interactive activities for youth with disabilities. These include a variety of functions such as a trip to the Indiana State Fair (Monday, August 11, 2008), and a day of fun at the annual Pizza Party and Activities Day (Saturday, May 10, 2008.) We willingly provide or attempt to locate needed information for families of persons with disabilities, or othe persons seeking an understanding of a disability. Easter Seals will refer those we cannot help to the proper agencies for further assistance.
