General Overview
The Medicaid Waiver program is funded by Medicaid and utilizes home and community based services. The applicant must qualify for institutional care. Placement is waived for home care.
Individuals must have Medicaid for the aged (Medicaid category A), be blind (Medicaid category B), be on AFDC (Medicaid category C) or be determined to be disabled by the Medical Review Team (MRT) by the Medicaid office (Medicaid category D). People who are receiving their Medicaid benefit under Hoosier Healthwise are not eligible to receive Medicaid waiver services, unless their Medicaid category is changed at their request.
Senate Bill 30 allows parental income/resources to be disregarded when determining Medicaid eligibility for children under the age of 18 who are being considered for any of the Waivers.
Types of Waivers
