So I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say the weather has been awful for the past week and it doesnt look like it is going to get better any time soon. I miss the sun terribly. Its such a pain to have to walk around campus in the rain but what can we do? I think im going to invest in rain boots... My weekend wasnt too terrible..the rain finally went away, the clouds parted and the sun came out of hiding for awhile. Did you know that this past weekend was National Alpaca Farm Day? Well I didnt until know either unitl I read the local newspaper. Turns out that this time each year farmers allow people to come out to their farms and teach you about alpacas. Being the curious person that I am..I couldnt past this up. Plus I wasnt doing anything else sunday afternoon (probably should have been busy with book work but you know) . So I ventured out to the alpaca farm and I must say it was alot of fun. I didnt realize that so many people were interested in alpacas. They are gentle creatures and their wool has many uses. I'm thinking this experience could be used for a future speech perhaps? I'm always looking for topics that no one else would think to use.
So anyway...I entered a contest to name the newest baby boy alpaca on the farm and I bought a snug headband to keep my ears warm. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy because I dont go anywhere without my camera.
