Buh-Bye!

05/16/2010

Hello Red Wolves!

Well, I did it! I am officially an alumna of Indiana University-East! I am so happy to finally be finished with my undergraduate schooling. It's been a really tough road for me, and I'm glad that I stuck it out and pursued my dreams of a college education.

The ceremony was awesome! We hooped and hollered anytime any of the speakers said "Class of 2010". Although, I have to say that after we turned our tassels someone brought out a beach ball to toss around the graduates. And, of all people, I had to be hit in the head with that ball TWICE! Needless to say, I have a thing against beach balls now.

I really can't believe that it's all over. It feels like yesterday when I took my first steps onto the IU East campus. I can remember being scared and unsure if I was even going to make it. Before coming to IU East, I had a horrible experience with another college. At this college, I felt like none of the professors cared whether or not I did well in the class. I just felt like I was a number to them (even though this was a small school). So, when I returned home from my previous school I was unsure if I even wanted to pursue a college degree. However, I sucked it up and enrolled at IU East. And, well....most of you know the rest.

Before I go, I just want to thank all of my professors for being such great teachers and people! Before I met all of you, I thought that all professors didn't care about students. Well, you proved me wrong, and for that I am forever grateful to you. I also want to thank all of the great people I have met during my time here at IU East. All of you have made such an impact on my life, and I will never forget each and every one of you. Lastly, I want to thank my family for being there when I felt like giving up. Without you, I would not be where I am today.

Well, Red Wolves, I guess this is the part where I sign off for the last time. To the Class of 2011, HAVE FUN! Time flies, and before you know it it's graduation! Make it count this last year! Then, to the Class of 2010, God bless each and every one of you. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. I know that each of you will be successful in your lives!

Signing off for the last time!

HOWL,

Cassie Oaks, BS
