Bye bye Junior year :)

05/09/2011

WE MADE IT!! I know that everyone that is in the sophomore nursing class with me is excited that we made it through the first year! It was a long and drawn out year..and it was a huge step in the learning process..but we are well on our way to becoming graduates of the IUE nursing program. We don't get much of a break because we have two summer classes and then jump right into the fall, it is going to be hard..and a lot of work but i can't wait :) So needless to say i will be here this summer; soakin up the sun, reading a lot of chapters and doing a lot of homework! I just keep reminding myself it will all be worth it in the end :)

Ironically what makes me want to be done is the fact that I am working in the External Affairs office handing out Caps and Gowns to those who are graduating and to think in two years that will be ME!! I absolutely can't wait...seems far from now but i know ..Time really does fly <3

In sports news, we finish up the track season this week with a meet at North Central which is Illinois. It is a big meet, and the last chance of the season to qualify for Nationals. The girls finished second in their conference out of 8 and the boys finished third. Vanessa Legg and I brought home a total of four gold medals and defended a few or our conference titles! It was a good feeling to win and show that the IUE track team has come a long way in just a year!

This summer a couple of us will be competeing in meets, so we can stay focused and becoming better and hopefully gaining National recognition!

To wrap up the school year, it was filled with a lot of hardwork and long nights of studying! IUE had many fun events on campus, the sports teams all soared and enrollment was at an all time high! It is amazing to be apart of such a huge growing process..i can only imagine where IUE will be in the near future!!
