I'm going to tell you a little story... About 2 weeks ago, we played ASBURY at their house. Breezy and I were getting taped up by their trainer—who I swear used the WORST tape I have ever seen in my life! He should have just used scotch tape—and something caught my eye. I looked over at their whiteboard and it said “things to do.” The first thing on the list was “beat IU East.” Unfortunately, they did just that… even though the officiating crew consisted of 4 people who were plotting against us and their fans were over the top… the odds were against us that day.

Last night, our “to do” list was consisted of more than just “beat Asbury.” It was senior night, throw back/retro/70’s  night (in order to celebrate the 40th year anniversary of the campus), and it was a chance to share the Conference title. WE WANTED IT BAD. We knew we left some unfinished business with Asbury. The last time we saw them, as I mentioned before, the whole gym was against us. And the 5 set match was ended on a—in my opinion—BOGUS call. So, it was time for revenge.

WE CRUSHED THEM.

Our seniors played AMAZING. Our whole team played AMAZING. Our crowd…I can’t even put into words how our crowd was last night. Even Mark Hester (our AD) was all smiles this morning bragging about our crowd and how packed the gym was. He said that was the most loudest, interactive, and enjoyable crowd IUE has seen. And I couldn’t agree with him more.

FANS, you did your thing. You don’t understand how much we feed off your excitement! And how much the other team HATES it. THANK YOU!!
