Buh-Bye!

Hello Red Wolves!

Well, I did it! I am officially an alumna of Indiana University-East! I am so happy to finally be finished with my undergraduate schooling. It’s been a really tough road for me, and I’m glad that I stuck it out and pursued my dreams of a college education.

The ceremony was awesome! We hooped and hollered anytime any of the speakers said “Class of 2010″. Although, I have to say that after we turned our tassels someone brought out a beach ball to toss around the graduates. And, of all people, I had to be hit in the head with that ball TWICE! Needless to say, I have a thing against beach balls now.

I really can’t believe that it’s all over. It feels like yesterday when I took my first steps onto the IU East campus. I can remember being scared and unsure if I was even going to make it. Before coming to IU East, I had a horrible experience with another college. At this college, I felt like none of the professors cared whether or not I did well in the class. I just felt like I was a number to them (even though this was a small school). So, when I returned home from my previous school I was unsure if I even wanted to pursue a college degree. However, I sucked it up and enrolled at IU East. And, well….most of you know the rest.

Before I go, I just want to thank all of my professors for being such great teachers and people! Before I met all of you, I thought that all professors didn’t care about students. Well, you proved me wrong, and for that I am forever grateful to you. I also want to thank all of the great people I have met during my time here at IU East. All of you have made such an impact on my life, and I will never forget each and every one of you. Lastly, I want to thank my family for being there when I felt like giving up. Without you, I would not be where I am today.

Well, Red Wolves, I guess this is the part where I sign off for the last time. To the Class of 2011, HAVE FUN! Time flies, and before you know it it’s graduation! Make it count this last year! Then, to the Class of 2010, God bless each and every one of you. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. I know that each of you will be successful in your lives!

Signing off for the last time!

HOWL,

Cassie Oaks, BS

Where did spring go?

So, I want to know which one of you ordered this nasty weather? I can’t believe it was so nice Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Now, it’s so cold and dreary! It’s actually kind of depressing. On a happier note, I did finish my 25-page paper! Yay! It’s not due for another 2 weeks, but it’s [...]

The Final Push

Welcome back! Did you all have a wonderful and safe vacation? I sure did, but now it’s time to get serious and get back to the books! This semester is bittersweet for me because this is my LAST semester as a Red Wolf. Every day I get closer and closer to becoming an IUE Alumnus. [...]

All work & no play

Hey Red Wolves! Did you enjoy Homecoming? I know that I sure enjoyed myself! I didn’t get to all of the activities last week, but the ones I did go to were a blast! I’m having difficulty loading my videos and pictures onto my computer, so when I get them loaded, I’ll make sure to [...]

The Price is RIGHT!

Happy Thursday Night! Today was a special day for the Admissions staff & the Ambassadors. We welcomed about 60 guidance counselors from area high schools to participate in IU East’s annual Counselor’s Appreciation Breakfast. During this special event, counselors are treated to a great breakfast, and they are handed scholarship money for their seniors. However, [...]

Update from my part of campus

Hey gang! These past couple of weeks have been terrible for me.  After I got home from the cruise, my dog Peyton hurt his back leg. I took him to the vet, and the vet said that he tore his ACL and would need surgery to fix his leg. That really got to me because Peyton is [...]

Where is the time going?

Hey Red Wolves! How are you doing? I hope you all are doing fine in your classes. I just realized that next week is mid-terms! AAHH! Where is this semester going? Usually, the fall semester is the long haul, but this year it feels like it’s going way too fast. Must be because I’m going [...]

Got motivation?

I tell you what, I am so swamped with work right now, and I just can’t seem to get it all done! What’s worse is that I am totally loosing my focus. I know what needs to be done and how to get it done, but I’m not getting that focus that I need. On Saturday [...]
