Getting Off on the Right Paw

Hey Red Wolves Country!
Today was a great day! For the first time in IU East history, we had a First Year Seminar Kick-off Event! For those of you who do not know what a First Year Seminar is, let me fill you in. First Year Seminar, or FYS, is a course that ALL first year students are required to take. This class is designed to help facilitate new students to the college life & help them develop a sense of community on campus. This course is also designed to promote diversity among the new students. I think that FYS will be a vital part of IU East! I really wish there was something like this when I became a student! Anyway, I have a video of the highlights from the kick-off. I do apologize for length of the video, but there was just soooo much to put in it!
ENJOY!
Weathering the Storm

Hey Red Wolves,
Well, we are coming to the end of our summer. In only a few short weeks, we will be into the fall semester. It’s hard to believe that school is right around the corner. It feels like the spring semester just ended! However, I hope all of you had a better summer than I.
My summer did not start off bad, but I did have to have some work done to my teeth. In my previous blog, I said that I had to have all four wisdom teeth taken out. Well, I had them taken out and everything went down hill from there. After my wisdom teeth were pulled, I got a dry socket in my lower right socket. It hurt soooo bad! However, my pain did not end there. After my dry socket was corrected, I got a sinus/allergy infection. That lasted for a few days. Then, after I thought the storm was over, I got bronchitis. I had it for a WEEK! In fact, I’m still on antibiotics for my bronchitis and infection. I was in so much pain and my throat was so swollen and sore that I almost went to the ER because I could not swallow anything! I literally thought I had the Phenomena or something more horrible than bronchitis. This all happened in July, and because of my illness I had to miss THREE New Student Orientations! I felt so terrible not fulfilling my duties as an ambassador, but I guess when you’re sick, you’re sick!
However, my entire summer wasn’t a total bummer. There was the Jennie DeVoe Concert at Wilson’s Wines. My friends and I had a great time with some great wine! Jennie sounded great that night, and she announced that she got signed by Sony Music! Yay! It’s about time too! She is phenomenal! You NEED to see her in concert to truly appreciate her talent! Here are some pictures from the evening:

Well kids….I need to get some sleep! These antibiotics are knocking me out! I hope all of you have a great rest of break! I will see you all later! Take care of yourselves!
HOWL!
