About Cassie
Hello Red Wolves! I’m Cassie, and I am a senior Psychology student. I will be graduating in May 2010 hopefully with Honors. I am currently a Student Ambassador and one of the peer mentors for the First Year Seminar course. I am also the proud owner of Cassie’s Pet Sitting Service located here in Richmond. Before coming to IU East, I was a student at Life University in Marietta, GA, where I was studying to become a chiropractor. After two years of hard struggles, I figured that I could do better and be better if I joined the IU East family! Boy, was I right! I’m so happy and thankful that I chose to get my education here at IU East. My only regret is that I didn’t enroll here right after high school!
My experiences here at IU East are priceless. As a student, I feel that I am getting a quality education without going into deep debt through student loans. I feel that the people here care about how I do in school, which was a quality that I really wanted at my old school. Throughout my years here I have been involved with the Psychology Club, Psi Chi, SGA, SET, The Howler, and now blogging. Also, I served as one of two research assistants for Dr. Duane Lundy, one of the Psychology professors here at IU East.
After graduating, I plan on getting a MA/EdS in School Psychology where I will learn how to test children in grades K-12 for behavioral and academic problems and learn how to teach children how to deal with their disabilities . I’ve gone back and forth on whether I wanted to go into Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or School Psychology, but I feel that School Psychology is better suited for me and what I want to accomplish in life.
As far as my life outside of school, I live here in Richmond with my mom, grandma, aunt, and three wonderful dogs: Abbey, Peyton Manning, and Eli Manning. So, by the looks of my dog’s names you’ve probably guessed what sport I love. Our household stops for football. Whenever the Colts and/or the Giants play…we are glued to the T.V. Besides football, I enjoy being outside, dancing, traveling, reading, and just having a great time!
I hope that each and every one of you enjoy my blog. I feel blessed and honored that I get to represent IU East in this blog.
I look forward to many wonderful chats and stories!
