El Fin.

Oh finals are complete, and life is now good until January 14th!

I hope all of you completed your semester with a bang and are ready to enjoy break! I can't wait to start baking and getting into the Christmas spirit. I will be starting my shopping this weekend, better late than never right? I am very excited to spend time with my family and have some time off work :)

To kick off the start of break my nursing class and I all went out and celebrated. We themed the celebration "Ugly Christmas sweater" party, it was funny to see all of the ugly sweaters and the whole class having fun! It is crazy to think that when I started this program 3 years ago that all of my classmates were strangers, now we all have become close and it is almost like a little nursing family!

I do also want to say, that my thoughts and prayers are with those involved in the Connecticut tragedy. And that I am very proud of our president showing such compassion and reminding people to cherish each an every day that they have.

Heart/Broken

I was originally going to get on here and write about how hard finals were and how much a pain in the butt ending a semester was, but then I read maybe one of the saddest stories I have seen in a while. I'm sure if your not already aware, you will be in the very near future, but there was a school shooting that happened today in an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! Two grown men came in and took the lives of what I read as 27+ people and 18 of them were students. I can't think of anything more innocent and pure then a young child, especially in a place that they feel safe like their own school, and for two people to break that safety is just disgusting. I pray for the ones who lost so close to Christmas. I hope that their families can find some peace during the holidays and know that God has 18 new angels to spend Christmas with this year.

Really puts our daily struggles in perspective. I'm not yet a father so I can't imagine the bond shared between parents and their children, but no matter how rough I think my schooling is, it is nothing in comparrison to the emotions they are feeling now. So, as we continue to focus on ending up our last few finals here, I hope everyone has a second to appreciate how blessed we are and say a prayer for these people.

Iowa was…

Iowa was quite the experience. I told you a little bit about it in my earlier entries. But I want to take this time to thank those who made the trip to Iowa.

First and foremost: my family. My Grandma and Uncle made it to EVERY SINGLE GAME this year (and for the past 4 years). They are just as much of this team as the rest of us. They were there to lift me up when we lost and there to praise me when we won. They’re truly our team’s number one fans.

My CRAZY FAMILY decided to drive to 10 hour trek to Iowa, watch my last game EVER, then get back into the car and drive back home. Talk about dedication and love. They brought a dry erase board that they wrote on during the entire game. They asked me to prom, the felt “THE BREEZE” (Breezy), they joked, laughed, and screamed for me. It was a surprise and pleasure to have them there to experience that with me.

Mary Ann and John Morse: thank you the two of you. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as the team did! It was an awesome experience!! I’m glad the two of you could make the journey with us. Here are some pictures they took!

Nothing says Christmas like watching Elf :)

Ahh we have finally made it to December! Although, it doesn't quite seem like December or Christmas time for that matter because there is no snow, and I have been so busy. As I have become older I don't really look at time by months or days, I look at time by when my next assignment is due or project etc..so quite frankly this whole semester has gone by and I don't feel like I have had time to celebrate anything adequately  So I am glad that this semester is finally coming to an end and I will have plenty of free time to enjoy the holiday with my family, relax and prepare for my last semester of college.

Since I am a broke college student I have found that the easiest way to please everyone is to bake a bunch of goodies. For the past couple years I have been doing this and it has gone over very well. Pinterest is definitely helping this year with so many good and new ideas. It will be hard to not want to eat the goodies myself!! Lol Hopefully I will remember to take some pictures of all the festitivites

But before I can truly relax I have to get through another week and a half of school :( Two finals and a final check off are standing in my way. So I will be studying from now until December 17th!

That being said, study hard and finish up this semester strong!!!!!

Can’t forget about the Buckeyes

I can't believe I almost forgot to mention the most important event of this semester (ok, not really) but still a very huge accomplishment in its self. It is The Ohio State Buckeyes, my beloved football team, going a perfect 12-0 this year! We should be heading to a national championship game against Notre Dame (a game I would have loved to watch), buuuut due to some people whose names we won't mention, we will have to wait until next year to win our national championship.

Don't feel bad though Hoosiers, your basketball team is still one ahead of my Dukies at #1 in the nation......for now ;)
