Endless Possibilities

On Pinterest that is. Pinterest makes me feel like I could make anything. Recently I have been super obsessed with the home decor section. How amazing would it be to make my future home look exactly like these pictures or better??

We have a little under three weeks until spring break ahhhh :D . Graduation is getting closer and closer, which brings me to some information I am not sure most people know.If you are ordering a cap and gown you should order before March 27th, because if you order after that the gown price increased by $50.00. So just be aware of that. Here is the link to the page with all of the information regarding commencement ->>> http://www.iue.edu/commencement/

Cap and Gown--> ORDER NOW

It is crazy to think that after spring break there is a little over 5 weeks left of this semester. It really is going by fast. I am hoping with spring break fast approaching that the weather will take a turn in the right direction and start to warm up! If there is one thing I dislike about being a track athlete it is most definitely the weather. No matter how many extra layers you wear sometimes it is just too cold to be outside Lol. Other than that I am very excited for our first track meet on March 16th at Wabash University. We as a team have all been working very hard this off season, and there are some fresh faces. I am excited to see how everyone does.

I need to get back to doing something productive ;)

Have a good week peeps

Say CHEESE!

Talk about running on E. This week between class, clinicals, and playing catch up with hours at work, I think  I've spend more time inside of a hospital then out. I can't even begin to explain how valuable all of this experience is though. I have done more these last few months then I have over the last few years! Like I've said before, it is all going to pay off here very shortly.

I got a big reminder of this when I had to go in for my graduation pictures. It felt so weird getting the pin put on me and wearing my official scrub top for the picture. I can't count how many times I've walked through the halls on the upper floor of Hayes and looked at all the previous classes that graduation before me. I would always think to myself that it was so far away and how awesome it will be to finally have my picture up there with them as well. I get cold chills every time I think about walking across the stage and getting my own nursing school pin and diploma from the dean. I haven't decided if I'm going to cry, give her a hug, scream, or just pass out LOL. Every week there is a reminder of how much closer myself, and my classmates, are to graduation.

And for a little comic relief and for anyone looking for a little pat on the back for realizing that you would never do this, check out this picture of a parking job outside of this hospital that I saw as we were taking down the major's fair set up over in Reid. The best part was the guy driving the truck (who has a car in front of him as well in a correct spot and is parked in) saw this from a room in the hospital and thought it was halarious. Him and his family saw the car parked incorrectly from a window in the waiting room and said it would suck to be the guy parked in, and then realized it was his truck in the middle LOL. I'm not sure how the issue got resovled but at least the guy was in a good mood about it and was just happy he got out there in time to take a picture before the person moved their car.

Some things fall apart..

So other things can fall together.

This week was harder than normal, a situation that I was in was going well and then all of a sudden it took a turn for the worst. But that very same day an Army Recruiter called me and we talked about my future with them. It was exciting and made me even more focused on the things that are important right now. School, getting into shape and squaring things away to take the NCLEX. I feel that I am more focused than ever, and can't wait to continue the recruiting process.

It also so happened to be Valentines day! My valentines may have been the best one I have had yet. I was able to spend all night with the people who are closest to me, we talked, laughed and just had a good time. Valentines day can be saddening for some people, but it could also show you how many blessings you have. Valentines day is a day to appreciate the love you have in life, and that can come from many different places!

In other news, it seems that I have 3 papers to write within the next 2-3 weeks. I absolutely can't stand writing papers, because well...writing is not my forte. Which makes me laugh because I will be getting my masters degree eventually and masters degrees are filled with paper writing -__-. But the whole point of telling you about my papers is that I have been procrastinating by spending valuable time on pinterest. Lol so I wanted to share a couple of pictures that I came across!

Have a good weekend peeps!

Meet the new guy, Yogi

Since I'm so close to graduation, and really before I realized how crazy this last semester was going to be, I decided that it was time to reward myself with a little present. What better then man's best friend, a little puppy. I say little now but in the month Ive had him, I feel like he has tripled in size! I honestly have a whole new respect for all parents and especially single parents because this little dude keeps me on my toes 24/7. I especially appreciate what parents who come to school have to deal with.

I'm just glad I'll be graduating soon so I will make enough money to feed this piggy before he makes me broke LOL!

Puppies make the world a better place.

Mika

The new addition to the Ervin family. This is Mika, she is a 10 week old Doberman!!!!! I knew that my mom had been looking for a dog for a couple months now and she had talked about getting a Doberman because we had one when I was young and she was the best dog I had ever had, up until I got Ali of course ;) ! So when my mom called and told me the news I was sooooooooo excited, I can't wait to go home this weekend and meet her :D (Her ears had just been pinned, so that is why they are taped!).

I had been having a bad day up until my mom called, but my mood immediately changed at just the thought of this playful little pup! How could you be in a bad mood after seeing how precious she is?? I will have a Doberman of my own one day! So I dedicate this blog to all the amazing dogs out there, they really do change peoples lives for the better! <3 And of course my one love Mr. Ali.

Also, this past weekend was my youngest nephews first birthday party. The party was so much fun and I enjoyed spending quality time with all of my family.

Oh and not that I am counting or anything......but 5 weeks till Spring Break!

DID YOU SEE HER??

Have you been to an IU East Men's Basketball game?

YOU NEED TO GET TO ONE! The boys have been playing some good ball lately!

Also, at half time, not only are the cheer and dance teams putting on a great performance, but campus life has been bringing in talent outside of the Richmond area....AND I MEAN TALENT!

FOOTBALL? No, something more…

Ever heard of Tony Dungy? Not only was he the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts when they won the Super Bowl a few years back, but he is the author of the book that I am currently reading. This is the book I am reading: THE ONE YEAR-UNCOMMON LIFE-DAILY CHALLENGE. The book focuses on seven themes; one for each day of the week. the themes include: core, family, friends,

potential, mission, influence, and faith. So far the book has been pretty inspirational. He talks about a wide range of topics. Each day is something new and something inspirational.

Being that I am a senior, nearing the next chapter of my life, this book has helped me to create a sense of belonging. As a college student, graduation is an exciting time! Although very exciting, it can be scary also. In the book, Dungy urges us to look within ourselves, our family, and our faith to help us through whatever is in front of us!

No need to go out and buy the book. Just remember that there is a plan for each and every one of us! It may take years to discover, but that is what time is for!

Palmistry

We have all wondered about the lines on our hand at some point or another throughout our lives. And heard stories or folks tails about what the lines could possibly mean. Well when i was on the greatest website ever....Pinterest :) I came across this pin and found it extremely interesting.

Take a look-----> http://www.wikihow.com/Read-Palms

In other news, crazy to think that it is already February 1rst!!!!!!! This semester is cruising right along. I completed my second capstone this week and got to anchor my first NG as well as successfully start my first IV, I am definitely starting to feel like a real nurse and all the years of hard work are starting to pay off.

Who do you guys think will win?!

Other than that I am busily trying to get all my homework done for this week so that I am able to enjoy this weekend, and watch the ever famous Superbowl!!!

Hope you all had a great week.
