Puppies make the world a better place.

Mika

The new addition to the Ervin family. This is Mika, she is a 10 week old Doberman!!!!! I knew that my mom had been looking for a dog for a couple months now and she had talked about getting a Doberman because we had one when I was young and she was the best dog I had ever had, up until I got Ali of course ;) ! So when my mom called and told me the news I was sooooooooo excited, I can't wait to go home this weekend and meet her :D (Her ears had just been pinned, so that is why they are taped!).

I had been having a bad day up until my mom called, but my mood immediately changed at just the thought of this playful little pup! How could you be in a bad mood after seeing how precious she is?? I will have a Doberman of my own one day! So I dedicate this blog to all the amazing dogs out there, they really do change peoples lives for the better! <3 And of course my one love Mr. Ali.

Also, this past weekend was my youngest nephews first birthday party. The party was so much fun and I enjoyed spending quality time with all of my family.

Oh and not that I am counting or anything......but 5 weeks till Spring Break!

1 down…8 to go.

This week I started my capstone experience at Fayette Memorial hospital in Connersville, Indiana. If you don't know what capstone is, it is pretty much where you are going to a facility and working under a preceptor, which in my case is a nurse. It is almost like on the job training and it really helps develop skills and you become more independent and competent as a nurse. My preceptor works on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00am-6:00pm. I have never worked a 12 hour shift in my life, and my first day was just shadowing. So although i was excited about being there, 12 hours seemed like an extremely long time to watch someone do something! I did get to see and learn a lot of different things, and next week I get to advance to taking care of 1-2 patients on my own.

This experience has my eager to graduate and find a job and start my career! I can't wait to have a schedule like my preceptor has. Work three days and have the weekends off?! That sounds pretty amazing to me after 5 years of crazy schedules and school.

In other news, we made it through week 2!!!!! That means that we only have about 13 more weeks............ Lol but who is counting?  Track season is also in full affect. Our first meet is on March 16th so that gives us a good two months to prepare. I am crossing my fingers that it warms up by then because right now it is ridiculously cold outside.

Bundle up peeps!

El Fin.

Oh finals are complete, and life is now good until January 14th!

I hope all of you completed your semester with a bang and are ready to enjoy break! I can't wait to start baking and getting into the Christmas spirit. I will be starting my shopping this weekend, better late than never right? I am very excited to spend time with my family and have some time off work :)

To kick off the start of break my nursing class and I all went out and celebrated. We themed the celebration "Ugly Christmas sweater" party, it was funny to see all of the ugly sweaters and the whole class having fun! It is crazy to think that when I started this program 3 years ago that all of my classmates were strangers, now we all have become close and it is almost like a little nursing family!

Me, Cari and Emily

I do also want to say, that my thoughts and prayers are with those involved in the Connecticut tragedy. And that I am very proud of our president showing such compassion and reminding people to cherish each an every day that they have.
