TRAVELING…during the semester?? Whaaa?

Hi ya'll! I've spent the last month traveling around the eastern part of our country! That's right, during school. You may ask how I can do this? How I can be absent from the campus for so long? Well, that is the beauty of online classes, ladies and gentleman. Because I am in the Communications program here at IU East, most of my classes are online. Online classes offer many benefits; however, there are some negatives as well. The big perks include getting a syllabus at the beginning of the semester that has all the assignments, weekly modules, weekly forums, and other "set-date" assignments. Professors are very good about allowing tons of time for work to be completed and turned in. Because I was able to see ahead and work on my assignments ahead of time, I was able to do some traveling.
It wasn't all play, though. After Easter lunch with my family, my dad and I took a trip to New York. I had an interview for a coaching job in upstate New York. It was a 12 hour drive...minus the stopping, touring, eating, and other necessities. On our way back, we stopped at Niagara Falls. It was only 30 minutes out of our way--so we HAD to stop! It was an absolute blast!! It was a little chilly and very windy, but worth the drive! My dad and I really marveled at how beautiful something can be. BUTTTTTTT, did you know that we (humans) have altered it. WHAT THE?! We can actually turn it "off and on." Basically  we can stop it from being so strong of a force. That is VERY sad. We need to let nature run its course!

Capstone complete…35 days to go!!!

Holaaaa peeps! I hope you are having a great week.

I have officially finished my captsone. This means that I completed 110 hours of clinical and now every Tuesday I can sleep in till whatever time I want Lol. And believe me I will be taking advantage of this free time.

With 35 days left.........comes a lot of responsibility. Who knew that when you are about to graduate it would actually be hard to find a job, house, car??? This is something I never thought about while I was in the middle of school, because I was only focused on making it to the end. But now that I am at the end there is so much more too it than just walking across the stage!

So as much as I should be focusing on the important things (Car,house, job) I am a littler more focused on what color and type of dress I want to wear to graduation :D ....

Love This

So many options to choose from so little time to decide, and I haven't even begun to think about shoes!!!

In other news, the track team is off to a great start and there have turned out to be many talented individuals on both the boys and the girls teams! I am excited for our track meet at Anderson this weekend :)

Have a good weekend all.

GOODBYE IUE!

Hello everyone!!  I am deeply saddened to admit that this will be my last blog for IU East. I have recently decided to take a break from school and focus on my acting career. Just last week, after a long audition process in Columbus, OH,  I was offered a small recurring role on the longest running daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless!! Right now my part isn't fully written so I am unable to divulge any details but I hope you can tune in weekdays on CBS. It has been a pleasure sharing my thoughts and experiences with you, especially while abroad, and no matter where I am, be it England, California, or Richmond, IN- I will always be a Red Wolf.

44 days!!!

Well actually I think it is 43 now....but anyways, I hope each and every one of you had an amazing spring break! I spent the majority of mine sleeping and spending quality time with my family and friends. I also celebrated my 23rd birthday (I feel so old) but it was my best birthday yet :D . My friends really are the bomb!

This semester is definitely winding down. I just officially participated in my last nursing showcase ever.

And for the first time ever, we had all the nursing students together in one room. So that being said I would like to introduce to you the Indiana University East Nursing Students classes of 2013, 2014, and 2015!

If you are a senior we have to finish out these last couple of weeks strong and fight through the senioritis! That goes for the underclassmen too! We are SO close to the end :)

Let The Madness Begin!

Spring break couldn't come at a better time for me. I've decided to take the year off of going away on vacation during break and chose to stay home, catch up on all my school work, and finally get some decent hours at work. Exciting, I know! lol So instead of the beach I'm going to be watching as much college basketball as humanly possible. With conference tournaments starting to wind down, we are just a few days away from the BIG ONE. I've been having dreams of filling out brackets already, and of course graduation and all my school stuff as well ;)

Spring….spri…..sp….STILL SNOWING?!!!??

When I saw the news this week and that they were calling for 4-8 inches of snow I wanted to cry :( . I am so beyond ready for spring, this snow has got to go!!!!!!!!! Not to mention we are one week away from spring break...spring break is suppose to be sunny and warm. Anyways, on to other things that are more important than me complaining about the snow.

I think this may be some of the realest advice I have ever read. I am trying to practice this on a daily basis.

We have 62 more days until graduation...how crazy is that????? I mean when we were back in the 100's it didn't really feel like graduation was ever going to get here but now that it is so close I am starting to get more and more excited....while also becoming more and more of a senior, which means senioritis. Senioritis is a real thing and it can drown you. At this point after spring break we will have five weeks left, and those five weeks are going to fly by. We gotta dot our I's and cross our T's, because we are way to close to the end to mess it up!

To add to the excitement I just completed my application for license  in Indiana and that feeling was surreal. My capstone is also winding down, I only have two more rotations to go. Each capstone rotation I have learned something new and the experience has really made me feel like I am going to be a nurse.

Kind of a bunch of scattered thoughts Lol? I apologize.

Have a good week peeps

Live Performance, I NEED YOUR HELP!

For my Theatre Appreciation class, we have to go to a live performance. I honestly, have absolutely NO IDEA where to even begin looking. Or what to look for? Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

My sister gave me the idea of Legally Blonde! A couple of years ago for Christmas, my grandmother got her tickets to see it and she immediately fell in love. She bought the sound track and made us all listen to it every morning before school. I'm not going to lie...it grew on me. I now know all of the songs, but never been to see the live performance.

Here is a sneak peak!!

What am I to do? Please comment if you have suggestions!!

My stress reliever

Everyone has their hobbies to help ease their mind and get away from the worries of school, work, or just everyday life. For me, as you can tell by many of my posts, is sports, and it is almost my favorite time of the year for sports. It is the greatest tournament in the sports world and has a name that sums it all up. MARCH MADNESS. I can't even begin to count how many brackets I fill out every year or the amount of time I spend either watching the games or high lights of the games. I know that I am in Hoosier country so I have to be a LITTLE happy that IU is doing so well and might enter the tourney with the number 1 overall seed, but watch out for my Dukies as they make their little run here at the end of the year and maybe sneak passed IU for a championship. And what makes it even better is that the NBA playoffs and championship will be coming up here before too long as well. This is about the only time that every game matters in the NBA so that makes it so much better to watch.

If this wasn't enough to satisfy your sports needs don't forget spring training has started too :)

Endless Possibilities

On Pinterest that is. Pinterest makes me feel like I could make anything. Recently I have been super obsessed with the home decor section. How amazing would it be to make my future home look exactly like these pictures or better??

We have a little under three weeks until spring break ahhhh :D . Graduation is getting closer and closer, which brings me to some information I am not sure most people know.If you are ordering a cap and gown you should order before March 27th, because if you order after that the gown price increased by $50.00. So just be aware of that. Here is the link to the page with all of the information regarding commencement ->>> http://www.iue.edu/commencement/

Cap and Gown--> ORDER NOW

It is crazy to think that after spring break there is a little over 5 weeks left of this semester. It really is going by fast. I am hoping with spring break fast approaching that the weather will take a turn in the right direction and start to warm up! If there is one thing I dislike about being a track athlete it is most definitely the weather. No matter how many extra layers you wear sometimes it is just too cold to be outside Lol. Other than that I am very excited for our first track meet on March 16th at Wabash University. We as a team have all been working very hard this off season, and there are some fresh faces. I am excited to see how everyone does.

I need to get back to doing something productive ;)

Have a good week peeps

Say CHEESE!

Talk about running on E. This week between class, clinicals, and playing catch up with hours at work, I think  I've spend more time inside of a hospital then out. I can't even begin to explain how valuable all of this experience is though. I have done more these last few months then I have over the last few years! Like I've said before, it is all going to pay off here very shortly.

I got a big reminder of this when I had to go in for my graduation pictures. It felt so weird getting the pin put on me and wearing my official scrub top for the picture. I can't count how many times I've walked through the halls on the upper floor of Hayes and looked at all the previous classes that graduation before me. I would always think to myself that it was so far away and how awesome it will be to finally have my picture up there with them as well. I get cold chills every time I think about walking across the stage and getting my own nursing school pin and diploma from the dean. I haven't decided if I'm going to cry, give her a hug, scream, or just pass out LOL. Every week there is a reminder of how much closer myself, and my classmates, are to graduation.

And for a little comic relief and for anyone looking for a little pat on the back for realizing that you would never do this, check out this picture of a parking job outside of this hospital that I saw as we were taking down the major's fair set up over in Reid. The best part was the guy driving the truck (who has a car in front of him as well in a correct spot and is parked in) saw this from a room in the hospital and thought it was halarious. Him and his family saw the car parked incorrectly from a window in the waiting room and said it would suck to be the guy parked in, and then realized it was his truck in the middle LOL. I'm not sure how the issue got resovled but at least the guy was in a good mood about it and was just happy he got out there in time to take a picture before the person moved their car.
