Technology…
Jan 28, 2010 School Events, Sports
Man…I swear, sometimes technology is a blessing as well as a curse/inconvenience. I have been trying to post one of my videos blogs off and on for like a week. So i decided to write this one out just because I was tired of waiting on YouTube to stop holding out on me.
Time has been flying by. I can remember when i was writing about the start of the school year starting, now the basketball season is dwindling down and the second semester is in full swing. This is CRAZY, it kinda has me worried because I know that it wont be too long when I’ll be like, “I was in college 10 years ago.” (haha) I’m definitely not looking forward to that day, unless I’m a successful business man in a happy marriage.
The back again in 2k10 celebration happened recently…I had to work so I didn’t get to take part in any of that, but I’m sure it was nice.
But anywho I am going to keep trying and get back to making my videos for these blogs. Just excuse this one…HOLLA

IU East vs Berea…
Mar 2, 2009 School Events, Sports
Well it’s the time we’ve been waiting for since we stepped off the bus! Its game time and we have one obstacle in front of us at the moment: Berea College. We played them twice before as I stated in the previous blog. So we knew that this wasn’t going to be an easy game.
The game before us was IU southeast vs. Asbury College. It was an exciting game, not as exciting as the game the night before. That was a barn-burner (that’s for you Dustin!). But Asbury was surprisingly ahead for a good portion of the game, which was kind of surprising.
Before I go any further, the most crazy thing about this trip is the mountains. You’ll be driving one minute and the next thing you’ll know you’ll look over and see a 1000 foot drop to the town below. It is crazy!
Our game against Berea was a good game for the most part, we started off really well and jumped out to a good lead. At halftime we were up 17 points and we knew that Berea was going to make a run. They brought it within 4 points, but we never let it get any closer than that as we pulled away to preserve the victory.
Me and my guy Steve Shepherd decided to dress-up this weekend for the games. We were dressed to impress even though I still had to wear my boot! It’s all good though. I caught a couple eyes out there in Pipa Passes! (haha!)
Tomorrow we play at 5 pm against Indiana Southeast. I will make sure I have the camera once again to give some insider footage on how the game goes. Check back for the next installment.
Holla!

K.I.A.C. Tournament!!!!
Feb 27, 2009 School Events, Sports

Well the first day of the conference tourney is over and the first game of the tournament was a really good indicator of how intense things become once the post season hits. Once we got to Pipa Passes, KY, where Alice Lloyd college is located the first game was just about to begin. The first contest was between Asbury College and Alice Lloyd College.
The game was tight the entire duration and become more and more exciting a time winded down. Big shot after big shot was made by number 5 Micheal Spann. He took over the game in overtime with great shooting from downtown and Alice Lloyd just couldn’t contain him. But the biggest shot was made with 1.1 seconds to go to give Asbury the go-ahead by number 23. I don’t know his name but he made his presence felt and hit a big shot.
We’re going to leave in about an hour to go watch them face Indiana Southeast today at noon. That should be a decent game. Asbury needs to bring it because Southeast is a tough team in our conference.
On another note, our team took in the atmosphere yesterday at the game and became really anxious to play. Hopefully that transcends into good play today as we take on Berea College. We have beaten them twice this season, but both of them went into overtime. So this will be a tough game. As any basketball player or avid fan knows, anything can and usually does happen in the post season (I still can’t believe Kansas lost to Bucknell the first round when they had Wayne Simien).
I didnt have access to a camera the night before but I will return with some game shots and pictures of us at the hotel to give an inside peak.
STAY TUNED!

BUSY!!!!
Feb 24, 2009 School Events, Sports

Ya’ll know that when i post a blog i like to post a picture. I decided to switch it up this time and not just post a picture of myself! That is my lil’ nephew Jared Jr. Its my brothers kid. Cute huh?
Well as most of you probably know, I have been walking around with crutches, a boot, and in some cases both. I had broken my foot in practice about 3 weeks ago. Man that hurt bad! I’m so ready to get this boot off for good and be able to work out! I’m so focused on our team and what we need to accomplish next year. But at the same time, I’m not overlooking this season either. I would love for us to go out to Pipa Passes, KY and bring home a ring! But yea, in the meantime im going to nurse myself back to health and take care of my school work.
Speaking of schoolwork, In bilogical concepts. My professor Neil Sabine, gave me an extra credit opportunity during our chapter on plant an animal cells. I made a cookie to look like inside of a animal cell. I used different types of candy to immulate different organelles inside of a cell. Here is what it looked like:

Nice huh? Hey, I’m just glad i got my extra credit.
We also went to the state house recently to show support for IU and to try to get some support for our fitness center, WHICH WE NEED BAD! haha
On a basketball note….we leave for the conference tournament on thursday morning at 6 a.m. We’ll be down there for a few days so I will remember to bring my camera this time! I’ll make sure I get some good insider photos of us in the locker room and everything.
Check back for it!

Settling In….
Feb 8, 2009 School Events, Sports

Pretty much by now everyone has settled into their schedules and is right into the swing of things this semester. I didnt realize how fast time flies by. I can remember the first I stepped on IU East campus coming to play open gym trying to make the team. Man I was so nervous. Coach had told me that he had a couple big guys coming in that day also. So I was thinking that I had to bring my A+ game or else it might be a rap for me.
Those were the days haha. But anyway, I guess the talent show already happened so I can forget about that. Its cool though, I really hadnt made my mind up yet if I wanted to join anyway.
The new Red Wolf basketball gear at the Book Store is fresh. I really like the long sleeve tee. Me and a couple of the other basketball players asked if they could order some bigger sizes too so that was nice.
The basketball team is now 20-7. Thats the best record Ive been apart of. In high school i think the best we did was like 20-8. So were one game better. This is a huge turn around from last year, I wasnt here to witness first hand, but I saw the stats.
Thats all for now
Holla!
