No One on the Campus Has Swagger Like Us!

null

Seriously, The Basketball Team holds it down for IU East.  No disrespect to the other sports and organizations on campus.  Because some of those may be just as important if not more important than us.  But when it comes to representing the University….we’re second to none.  I think we should teach a Class or something, straight up.

Lately, We had a Team BBQ at Chester Heights.  That was really good.  Its nice to get all the guys together and have some laughs and enjoy some good food.  Oh yea, if any body wanna battle us on the cooking side, we can go at it that way too.  We have some Chefs on the squad too!!  Y’all don’t wanna see us.  Here are a few photos from the get together:

I have a few more photos….I’ll post them if you guys want me to.  But as you can see some of the volleyball players even stopped by too.  Our chemistry is contagious, everybody wants some of it! (haha)

On another note the basketball season is creeping up on us.  PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! come out to the games and support us!  For real, we’re going to be an exciting team to watch.  I know I’m going to do my thing along wit the rest of us.  So make sure you come out and catch a game or two.

If you haven’t noticed the Post (taller) players on the team sometimes have certain shirts they wear.  Like for instance the Superman shirt you see me sporting at the top of the page.  We play a every-man-for-himself game called Man Game.  So if you win, you’re Superman.  Which is me every time…because I’m such an Ox down low.  And the loser has to wear a pink shirt that says “My Boyfriend is Cuter than Yours”  I will never, EVER, wear that shirt.  Haha I will make certain of that.

Sorry for the delay before this post,  I will make an effort to keep these for frequent.  So look out for the Next one!

Holla!

September: An IU East Medley

Well, September is almost over and a lot has been going on.  The volleyball season is underway and we (the basketball team) has been live and in full effect at all the home games.  We’re basically the whole student cheering section, because some of the young people think they are too cool to cheer.  But it’s all good, we hold it down.  We started a new tradition at all the games, when we score a point we yell, “Yea! Take that!.”  It frustrates the opposing team and it makes us cheer even louder.  Wilmington College was the first inaugural team to get the brunt of our cheering.  Also, I am going to be doing the P.A. for all the home volleyball games…so you can catch me on the Mic doing my thing like I always do (haha).

Between classes and jut hanging out, other than Chester Heights, a place where all of us basketball players will be hanging out is in the Graf.  I really enjoy hanging out with the guys in such a relaxed environment, it’s nice.  The music they play in there is also pretty good too, its a nice mix, so no one can really complain of the musical selection.  We usually play pool or ping pong, although I never play ping pong because I’m terrible.  Coming from 2 other schools where the basketball teams weren’t as close, its nice to see how good our team gets along and hangs out together.  We go out to eat together, go shopping, and also watch movies together.  Hopefully all of this team chemistry off the court translates onto it and equals a winning and very productive basketball season.

I do not remember the exact date, but we had a musical guest in the Graf.  She sounded pretty good.  I wasnt able to stay for the whole time because my classes wouldnt permit, but from what I heard she was pretty talented.

On another subject, my guy Steve-O and I met with a Amy, our “dietician” to change our eating habits.  She put us on a strict Protein diet and it cuts out all fried food and red meat basically.  It also helps me get the vegetables I need, that I usually wouldn’t eat.  We both have stuck to it for a little over a month now and have both lost about 10 pounds a piece.  What we usually eat is: Baked/Grilled Chicken or Fish, brown rice, and green beans/ brocoli.  Here’s a taste of what our dinner usually looks like:

Looks good don’t it!  Yea I know.  Well I promise I wont keep you all waiting so long next time.  I had been really busy this last week and a half with exams and such.  So I made up for it with a nice big post for all my fans (haha).  Just Kidding, but I’ll Catch ya’ll around Campus.

Peace.

Settling In…

null

Alright, the school year is underway and so is basketball practice.  I really enjoy hanging with all the guys and with all of us at Chester Heights together is nice.  With all of us living so close to gether is basically kinda like living in a dorm since your college buddies are right next door.  The apartments are nice and close to the school too so thats good.  Im anxious to see how the classes go this first week.

Coming to school a week early was an excellent idea because i was able to settle in and get used to the area before the hustle abd bustle of the school year.  All the stores you need are basically close range to the apartments with the exception of the mall and wal-mart, please dont try to walk there(ha ha).

Another good thing about the apartments is that the pool is in a good place, its not too far from any of the apartments.  After basketball or just workin out, the pool is heaven!  Man, just relaxing or acting silly with the guys out there, its another great hangout spot.  The pool is actually deeper than i thought!  When i first pulled up I thought it was another small pool that only went to about 5 feet, but to my surprise it was 9 feet deep.  Which is great.

On another note, at school i had a dilemma with my financial aid, and the school staff has been really helpful, everyone is very approachable and will do whatever they can to help you.  That has been great for me, because I am new to this whole area, so that has been a godsend.
