Dr. Gloria J. Burgess has performed and presented keynotes, master classes, forums, and tributes on leaders and leadership for 30+ years. She enjoys presenting for diverse audiences in myriad contexts, including Starbucks, Boeing, AT&T, Microsoft, Carnegie Hall, National Public Radio, Washington National Cathedral, Ghana’s Kokrobitey Institute, Kenyan Parliament, and the South African Embassy in Switzerland. She has served as regular and visiting faculty at universities in Washington and California. Her recent books include The Embodiment of Leadership (ed.), Leading in Complex Worlds (ed.), Dare to Wear Your Soul on the Outside, and Flawless Leadership (in press).

Her poetry appears in numerous anthologies, including The Ringing Ear: Black Poets Lean South. A Poetry Fellow with Cave Canem, a prestigious collective of poets and writers of the African Diaspora, Dr. Burgess is also a Distinguished Scholar in Theater Performance and Direction. She holds graduate degrees in leadership and communication, and an MBA and PhD from the University of Southern California.
