Academic Calendars
The Indiana University East academic year is divided into three semesters/terms: Fall (August to December), Spring (January to May), and Summer (May to August). Spring 2010
- May 3
- LAST DAY OF CLASSES. Deadline to withdraw w/instructor’s grade of “W” or “F”.
- May 4-10
- Final examination period.
- May 10
- Last day of final examinations.
- May 12
- Deadline for faculty to have their grades posted in SIS.
- May 13
- Spring grades available on OneStart.iu.edu

Summer 2010
- May 17
- Summer (12 week), and Summer I (6 week) classes begin
- May 17 - 21
- Late registration / schedule adjustment period for summer (12 week) session. $17 late fee in effect.
- May 21
- Last day to register, add courses, or change sections for summer (12 week), and Summer I sessions. Final date to drop courses or totally withdraw with no grade recorded.
From May 22 through July 8, a grade of “W” will be recorded for all Summer (12 week) courses dropped.
- From May 22 - June 4, a grade of “W” will be recorded for all dropped Summer I courses.
May 21
- Last day to drop or withdraw from summer (12 week) and Summer I sessions with a 100% refund.
- May 28
- Last day to drop or withdraw from summer (12 week) session with a 75% refund, or from Summer I session with a 50% refund.
- June 4
- Last day to drop or withdraw from summer (12 week) session with a 50% refund.
Last day to drop or withdraw from Summer I session with an automatic “W.”
- June 11
- Last day to drop or withdraw from summer (12 week) session with a 25% refund.
- Jun 28
- Last day of Summer I classes.
Deadline to withdraw from Summer I with an instructor’s grade of “W” or “F”.

- Labor Day Holiday. Campus closed.

- Second 7-week classes begin.
- November 1
- Early registration for Spring 2011 begins for continuing students.

- Deadline to drop or withdraw from the University with an automatic “W.” (Drops after this date must be approved by the instructor and academic dean.)
- November 5
- Open registration for Spring 2011 begins.
- November 15
- Deadline to apply for graduation – December graduates.
- November 22—27
- Fall Break – no classes (campus open 22, 23, 24 – campus closed 25, 26).
- December 13
- LAST DAY OF CLASSES. Deadline to withdraw with instructor’s grade of “W” or “F.”

- Final examination period.
