Most of the Professional Education courses in both Elementary and Secondary Programs include co-requisite field experiences. These experiences provide students with increasing amounts of responsibility in school settings and serve as preparation for full-time student teaching. Cooperating teachers complete a workshop to become familiar with our procedures and conceptual framework. Such collaborative relationships allow practicing professionals to share their expertise with future educators, bridging gaps between teacher preparation and practice, and forming lasting networks.
Students are assigned to a variety of schools and grade levels throughout their programs including placements in urban, suburban, and rural school corporations.
