Reading Center

All IU East students are encouraged to use the Reading Center located in Tom Raper Hall 325. All Reading Center services are free to students and are designed to help them succeed academically and gain confidence in reading.

At the Reading Center, students can:

  • Work one-on-one with a Reading Specialist
  • Learn comprehension strategies and how to apply them to college textbook reading
  • Develop an individualized reading improvement plan
  • Improve vocabulary, study skills, and critical-thinking skills
  • Become aware of reading strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop confidence in reading
