What is the Student Education Association?

The SEA is a recognized student organization on the IU East Campus. SEA serves to fulfill the following purposes:

  • to interest capable men and women in education as a life long career
  • to provide a communication network between teaher education candidates and faculty
  • to provide a support system for all students involved
  • to provide students preparing to teach with history, organization, policies, ethics and programs of the professional associations.

Who Can belong?

SEA membership is open to any student at IU East who is planning on a career in education. There are annual dues of $2.00 to be a unified member with full voting powers. Meetings are open to all education students and unified membership can be established at that time.

When does SEA Meet?

SEA has a business meeting once every month, plus either a social or educational activity once a month. Ongoing information is provided on the SEA bulletin board located outside ML358 and on the "Your Page" of the SoE website.
