B.A. in English, Technical and Professional Writing

Have you ever dreamed of using your love of writing in a career?  An IU Bachelor of Arts in English with emphasis on Technical and Professional Writing will give you the skills and flexibility to succeed in today’s workplace.  You’ll learn how to think critically and to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively, preparing you for a career in a wide range of fields from advertising and public relations to social services or writing for publication.
The B.A. online completion program in English consists of 60 credit hours (20 courses) to be offered over two calendar years. Advisors will work with every student, based on background, for an individual plan of study.

Two courses: Literature electives from among: ENG-L 332, ENG-L 364, ENG-L 390 or other 300 level online Summer lit courses or other 300 level online elective

Two courses: Literature electives from among ENG-L 332, ENG-L 364, ENG-L 390 or other 300 level online summer lit courses or other 300 level online elective

Your actual program sequence will depend on the semster that you choose to begin the program. If any completion program requirements have already been met through transferable course equivalents, online alternatives may be selected in consultation with the assigned faculty advisor. No more than 64 credits can be accepted in transfer from 2-year institutions or community colleges. Please see the Technical and Professional Writing program booklet for complete information.
