Indiana University East is accepting applications for the Student Success Coach position, reporting to the Executive Director of University College. IU East empowers students to explore and engage in their educational and personal purpose, within an inclusive community that supports online learning and graduation. This position provides coaching and support student success, retention and progression to graduation for online students; provide individualized student outreach to primarily non-traditional aged students who are returning to IU East to complete their degree online. Connect students to relevant campus resources; monitor and track progress of students online; maintain communication with faculty and staff in support of students online.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide individual coaching to returning non-traditional aged students seeking to complete a college degree online. Work with students to develop academic and career goals and plans. Advise students regarding academic degree requirements, certification or application requirements, test scores, grades, and course selection to meet academic standards for degree progress.
Work with individual students to develop realistic goals that will contribute to academic and personal success in college; develop relationships that foster developmental conversation; motivate students to achieve educational goals. Monitor and records progress of individual students; maintaining consistent and confidential records of individual student data
Provide individualized outreach to students based on identified risk factors including academic, financial and personal assisting them in developing individual plans for success. Refer and connect students with relevant University resources; coordinate with University stakeholders regarding additional outreach and support. Assist students in understanding and navigating alternative and flexible credit options such as Prior Learning Assessments, Competency Based Education, and online courses. Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of events, programs, and resources that support online students.
Develop understanding of requirements and other elements of academic majors targeted for online programs. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with student services, advising, career, and academic staff in schools supporting students in online degree programs.
Assist with events for potential students and current students in IU East and IU Online degree programs. Actively participate on various committees as requested. Represent University College at local, state, and national meetings, conferences, and/or professional associations as requested.

- Minimum Education: This position requires a bachelor's degree.
- Minimum Experience: Three years relevant experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's preferred in Counseling, Higher Education and Student Affairs or any related field; or multiple years of experience post Bachelor's degree. Experience with academic and career advising for adult students in higher education preferred
