Arts and Culture

Wherever and whenever you find groups of humans living together, regardless of their level of technology, industry, or commerce, you will also find them engaged in certain fundamentally human practices, practices that make us who we are:

  • Language and storytelling (both fictional and historical narratives)
  • Art and music
  • Religion and philosophy

At Indiana University East, the study of these defining practices is housed in the Department of Arts and Culture, which offers a variety of courses, minors, certificates, and baccalaureate degrees in:
