The program offers a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and a Minor in Fine Arts.  The curriculum of the program guides students towards a range of class work essential to the understanding of art making in a material, historical, and conceptual sense.  The program offers a regular rotation of courses in Art History/Art Appreciation, Fundamentals Studio, and 200, 300, and 400 level studio courses in the following disciplines: Ceramics, Drawing, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, and Sculpture.  In fall of 2017, the program will offer a new Graphic Design concentration for our Fine Arts majors.  Students seeking this concentration will gain expertise ranging from traditional tools and techniques in 2-D  design, graphic arts, and illustration, to new, evolving digital technologies that provide them with the necessary means to become a versatile professional in the creative fields.

IU East hosts three art galleries, one of which is a public art gallery and classroom in downtown Richmond.  Each gallery has continually changing exhibits, featuring artists from the regional to international level.
