"Without music, life would be a mistake." -Friedrich Nietzsche
Music is fundamental to human life and well-being. The Music program at IU East offers a range of opportunities for exploring music, from electives for non-majors, to a Minor in Music, to a structured Concentration in Music within the Bachelor of Arts in Humanities degree. Do you play an instrument? Join the IU East Pep Band. Do you sing? Join the IU East Chorus. Are you interested in the history of Music? Consider Music for the Listener, History of Rock, or History of Jazz.
For students interested in a structured music program, we offer courses in Music Theory, Music History, applied instrumental and/or vocal lessons, and ensemble opportunities. Some ensembles may require an audition.
