Sept. 11 Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony invites the public for a day of observance, community service

The City of Richmond, Indiana University East and Fountain City Wesleyan Church are sponsoring a day of observance and community service for the 10th anniversary of September 11.

The public is invited to join together as a community for the 10-year Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, at Veterans Park in Richmond, Ind.  The community, veterans, service men and women, emergency and medical personnel, and their families are invited to this special event.

IU East brings internationally acclaimed philanthropist for First-Year Seminar celebration

Indiana University East will welcome the Class of 2015 on Tuesday, August 23, to celebrate the start of the academic year.

New students to IU East are enrolled in First-Year Seminar, a University College course for first-year students to help them succeed in college.

IU East Honors Convocation celebrates student excellence in academics

Indiana University East celebrated the accomplishments of its students during the annual Honors Convocation held April 28. Chancellor Nasser Paydar presided over the convocation.

“The Honors Convocation celebrates student excellence in academics. These students are outstanding individuals who have demonstrated their comittment to academics and hard work,” Paydar said.

Poetry reading, PBS video to commemorate fire’s 100th anniversary

Indiana University East students will take part in a national effort to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire by hosting a poetry reading and PBS feature film. Both events are free and open to the public.

IU East High School Speech Tournament Results

IU East High School Speech Tournament Results

Indiana University East hosted its Annual High School Speech Tournament on February 12 in Whitewater Hall. Approximately 80 students from seven Indiana regional high schools competed in 14 events.

High schools competing in the speech tournament included Burris High School, Centerville High School, Connersville High School, Covenant Christian High School, Lawrence Central High School, New Castle High School, and Tri Junior and Senior High School.
