IU East welcomes 12 new faculty members this fall
Monday, October 31stAs Indiana University East continues its trend of record-breaking enrollments and strategic growth of academic programs, the campus is addressing its need for additional instructors with the hire of 12 new faculty members. The additional faculty will further enhance the campus’ mission as a comprehensive bachelor’s and master’s degree institution.

IU East to host College GO! Week events
Monday, September 26thIndiana University East will host events throughout College GO! Week today through September 30. The weeklong event offers high school students the opportunity to explore IU East and its academic programs.
IU East to have offices open Saturday for enrollment and registration
Thursday, August 25thIndiana University East will be open on Saturday, August 27, to help students enroll or register for classes for the fall semester.
“Saturday is a great time for students to access campus services before classes begin on Monday. Advisors will be working to help new and continuing students develop or adjust schedules for the fall semester,” Dean of Students Mary Blakefield said. “This is also an opportune time for students to meet with staff in financial aid, student accounts and other areas to tie up any loose ends before the semester begins.”

IU East announces Lilly Scholar
Thursday, August 11thAnn Barrett is the 2011 Lilly Endowment Scholarship award recipient for Union County. She will attend Indiana University East this fall to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Barrett graduated from Union County High School. A native of Liberty, Ind., Barrett now resides in Richmond. She is the daughter of James and Dodi Barrett.
IU East announces Presidential Scholar
Wednesday, August 10thCameron Cox is the Indiana University East recipient of the 2011 Indiana University Presidential Scholar award. IU awards the Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars award to incoming students at each campus. Cox is the campus’ sixth Presidential Scholar. He graduated from Monroe Central High School and was the valedictorian of his class.
Richmond High School graduates are this year’s recipients of Lingle Scholar awards
Tuesday, August 9thBrittany Anderson and Felicia Chagdes have been chosen as the 2011 Lingle Scholars. The scholarship award will continue throughout their pursuit of a four-year degree at Indiana University East.
Anderson and Chagdes are both from Richmond, Ind., and graduated from Richmond High School in June 2011. Each graduated with honors and earned Academic Excellence.

Indiana University East will undergo a comprehensive evaluation
Tuesday, August 9thIndiana University East will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit in October 2011 by a team representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. IU East has been accredited by the Commission since 1971, and was last evaluated in 2002.

IU East Honors Convocation celebrates student excellence in academics
Thursday, April 28thIndiana University East celebrated the accomplishments of its students during the annual Honors Convocation held April 28. Chancellor Nasser Paydar presided over the convocation.
“The Honors Convocation celebrates student excellence in academics. These students are outstanding individuals who have demonstrated their comittment to academics and hard work,” Paydar said.
