IU East proudly announces Red Wolves as new mascot

Indiana University East is now the Red Wolves. The new mascot was unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday at IU East.

IU East to unveil new mascot

Indiana University East will unveil its new mascot at 11:30 a.m. in the Whitewater Hall lobby on Wednesday, April 30. The event is open to the community and will be broadcast live by WCTV.

Fulbright Scholarship will send IU East faculty member to Vietnam

Joanne Passet, a professor of history at Indiana University East, has received a J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship award for the 2008-09 academic year. Passet will use the scholarship to travel to Hue University in Vietnam from January to June.

Indiana University East awards students during Honors Convocation

Several Indiana University East students were recognized on Thursday, April 17 during the Honors Day Convocation in Vivian Auditorium. Interim Chancellor Nasser H. Paydar presided over the program.

IU East, Ivy Tech partner for spring job fair

Indiana University East and Ivy Tech Community College partnered to host the 2008 Spring Job Fair on Friday, April 11. The event marked the first time the institutions have collaborated on a job fair.

Enhancing education of youth goal of hip-hop, academic achievement presentation

The Indiana University East Office of Multicultural Affairs and School of Education is hosting a presentation series by Brandon Cosby, senior fellow for High School Transformation at the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL), on Thursday, April 10. The Hip-Hop Culture presentation on using hip-hop as a teaching tool will be at 4 p.m. and the presentation on Raising Academic Achievement will be at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. in the Whitewater Hall lobby. Reservations are due Monday, April 7.

Traveling exhibit on Midwest POWs in WWII coming soon to IU East

The Indiana University East Campus Library and Morrisson-Reeves Library are sponsoring a traveling exhibit 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22. The exhibit will be located at IU East in the Whitewater Hall parking lot.

IU East faculty member receives award for outstanding community engagement

Ange Cooksey, humanities lecturer at Indiana University East, has received the Brian Douglas Hiltunen Award from Indiana Campus Compact. Cooksey was presented the award on Tuesday, March 25 at the 2008 Governor’s Conference on Service and Volunteerism.

IU East to add three sports for 2008-09

Indiana University East will add men’s cross country, women’s cross country, and women’s golf to its intercollegiate athletics program for the 2008-09 academic year.

Interim Chancellor Nasser Paydar said the move is consistent with IU East’s overall growth.
