Indiana University East’s annual Moving On program for area youth will be held from Sunday, July 27 to Friday, August 8. Moving On is in its 18th year of providing a two-week summer academic and personal enrichment camp for Richmond youth.

Indiana University East Associate Professor of Biology Neil Sabine is the recipient of the first Boschmann Faculty Award for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

The annual award will be given to a full-time faculty member researching in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at IU East. This grant is made possible by the generous gift by Erwin and Priscilla Boschmann. Erwin Boschmann is a former Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at IU East.

Jon Hughes is a journalist, author, playwright and self-taught photojournalist. “The City at Night” is currently on exhibit at the Indiana University East Meijer Artway in Whitewater Hall until August 22.

Indiana University East is pursing the implementation of a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies. The degree was approved by the Indiana University Board of Trustees Friday, June 20.

The degree program must next be approved by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.
