Theatrical comedy, drama performance coming to IU East

The IU East Alumni Association and the IU East Office of Multicultural Affairs will present Sonnets for my Sistahs: The game at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 in Vivian Auditorium.

Visiting author to read from selected works

Indiana University East will host visiting author, poet Denise Duhamel, for a public reading at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 in Whitewater Hall, room 132. 

Duhamel’s work includes Two and Two, Mille et un sentiments and Queen for a Day: Selected and New Poems. She is also the author of The Star-Spangled Banner, a work that was the recipient of the Crab Orchard Award, and Kinky.

IU East to host Midwest Victorian Studies annual conference

Indiana University East is hosting the Midwest Victorian Studies Association 2009 Conference from April 17-19. The conference is open to faculty, students and the public.

Alisa Clapp-Itnyre, IU East associate professor of English, is serving as the local coordinator for the conference. She said having the conference at a regional campus is a first-time event for the MVSA.

IU East Spring Lecture Series
The Spring Faculty Lecture Series continues with Julien Simon, assistant professor of Spanish and French, and his presentation, “An Introduction to Cognitive Literary Studies.” The lecture is at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3 in Whitewater Hall, room 132.
