An original art piece by India Cruse-Griffin will be unveiled during the Positive Place Initiative’s upcoming event, BOOST (Building On Our Strengths Together), on Thursday, January 31, at noon in Lingle Hall, Reid Hospital & Health Care Services. The artwork grew out of the county’s Positive Place Initiative and IU East’s “One Book, Many Voices” project.

The Positive Place Initiative will bring over 250 people together from the community for BOOST (Building On Our Strengths Together) on Thursday, January 31, at noon in Lingle Hall, Reid Hospital & Health Care Services. The Positive Place Initiative will host the working lunch to create and BOOST the community conversation about taking action and creating a more vibrant community.

Indiana University East and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences are
hosting exhibits by the Indiana Artisan and Rose Embroidery Guild now through March 29, 2013.
The Indiana Artisan’s exhibit, “Indiana Artisan: Paintings and Drawings,” is on display in The Gallery, located in Whitewater Hall.

Indiana University East continues to increase its record enrollment in both the number of students enrolled on campus and the number enrolled through its online degree completion programs. Compared to spring 2012, IU East has increased its enrollment by 15.7 percent (3,872 headcount). Students will take 6.3 percent more credit hours this spring semester compared to spring 2012, a total of 35,400 credit hours.

Indiana University East Campus Library and Center for Service-Learning have been selected as a community host site for World Book Night 2013. The goal of this World Book Night is to get books into the hands of people to encourage reading for enjoyment.

Thursday, January 17th
Indiana University East has named four finalists in the search for a new chancellor. Finalists will visit the campus this month to meet with faculty, staff, students and community members.
Following those visits, the next step will be for the university search committee that identified the finalists to meet again and make further recommendations to President Michael A. McRobbie and Executive Vice President John Applegate. McRobbie will make the final selection, subject to approval by the IU Board of Trustees.

Indiana University East will host the comedy show “S.E.L.L.O.U.T.” presented by The Blackpack at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, in Vivian Auditorium, located in Whitewater Hall.
