ADA conferences being held at IU East
IU East is one of seven state-wide sites to host all 12 sessions of the ADA Audio conference this year. The conferences will be held the third Tuesday of each month in Whitewater Hall, room 119. The November Audio Conference, “Everything You Need to Know about the Enforcement of the ADA but Were Afraid to Ask,” will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18.

The year-long series provides in-depth information on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This program is designed to enhance an individual’s existing knowledge base or facilitate continued learning regarding regulations and trends under the ADA. Last year, the conferences had over 200 participants.

Guest speakers will review the enforcement options available to individuals. They will also explain the various methods for pursuing a complaint under the various titles of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Service providers, disability advocates, individuals with disabilities, and other interested community members are encouraged to attend.

For additional information or to request an accommodation, contact Pamela Whitt by phone at (765) 973-8308, or email pbwhitt@indiana.edu. The audio conference series is co-sponsored by ADA-Indiana, the Governor’s Planning Council for People with Disabilities, and the DBTAC: Great Lakes ADA Center.
