Plein Air Painters to be featured in Meijer Artway

January 16, 2009 |

Indiana University East will feature a group of artists, the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, in the Meijer Artway. The exhibit, “From Women’s Hands the works of Plein Air Painters,” begins January 20 and continues through March 13.

The Indiana Plein Air Painters Association started in 1998 with a small group of artists who believed the best way to capture the essence of a scene is through interpreting nature in plein air (French for “in the open air”). The group has grown over the years, with over 300 members that paint together and work towards spreading IPAPA’s mission of educating artists and non-artists of the joys of painting from nature.
