Registration going on now for the IU East Run with the Wolves 5K July 21

Indiana University East’s Run with the Wolves 5K Run/Walk is coming up soon. Registration is open for this year’s Run with the Wolves 5K on Saturday, July 21, at Indiana University East.

Runners and walkers will enjoy the scenic IU East campus and use the Red Wolves’ cross country course located behind Hayes Hall. The event includes a free “Run with Rufus” 1K family run/walk.

All pre-registrants receive a tech shirt and drawstring backpack. Entrants are eligible for a Gatlinburg vacation and other door prizes.

Day-of-race registration opens at 7 a.m. on July 21 in front of Springwood Hall. The 5K run/walk starts at 8 a.m. followed by the “Run with Rufus” at 9:05 a.m. Awards will be presented at 9:25 a.m. at the Springwood Hall patio.

Run with the Wolves is part of the Wayne County Challenge series. The 2011 Run with Wolves set a Wayne County Challenge record with 548 finishers.

Register online at iue.edu/5K. The pre-registration cost is $15 until July 13, and day-of registration is $20. Students in grades K-12 and college can pre-register for $10 or register on race day for $15.  Proceeds from the event will benefit student scholarship programs of the IU East Alumni Association and the IU East Red Wolves Athletic Department.
