IU East welcomes high school students to explore campus for College GO! Week

September 23, 2013 |

Indiana University East will celebrate College GO! Week September 23-27. The event offers high school students the opportunity to explore IU East and its academic programs.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education established College GO! Week to encourage high school students to pursue a college education. IU East will highlight scholarships, campus spirit and traditions, opportunities for campus life, athletics and much more.

Students will visit campus from 9:30-11:30a.m. on Thursday, September 26, for College GO! Week VIP Day in Whitewater Hall. Students and parents will get a feel for IU East during a student lead tour, informational overview of campus, and a session with a personal admissions counselor to learn about the admissions process, financial aid and scholarships.

IU East will host Red Wolves Day from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 27, in Whitewater Hall. Red Wolves Day is the ultimate campus visit experience for high school seniors. The event includes a series of 20-minute breakout sessions on:

  • “Know How to Go!” includes all the key details about admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.
  • “Real Students: Real Answers” is a candid Q and A with current IU East students.
  • “Main Street Fair” is a chance to meet IU East faculty and learn about IU degree programs on campus.
  • “Hoosier Hot Jobs!” provides useful information about career paths for bachelor’s-prepared students.

With fall enrollment reaching a record high, more high school students are making IU East their university of choice. This fall, IU East has set a new record with 4,456 students enrolled for classes this semester. Since 2007, IU East has had a 96.6 percent increase in enrollment.
