The Indiana University East art gallery will display “A Metaphor For A Metaphor” by Ball State University faculty Scott Anderson, Hannah Barnes, and David Hannon. The exhibit will be on display in The Gallery, located in Whitewater Hall, from August 24 to September 18.

Anderson has been exhibiting his paintings professionally for the past 25 years in galleries, museums, national and regional juried offerings. He is currently an assistant professor at Ball State where he teaches undergraduate and graduate levels of painting and drawing.

Barnes’ recent work in painting and drawing explores a range of images and formal qualities relating ornament, decoration, and craft to the history of abstract painting. She is currently assistant professor of painting at Ball State.
Hannon has taught painting and drawing for the past nine years. Currently, he lives in Muncie, Ind., and teaches painting and drawing full time as an assistant professor of painting at Ball State.

A reception will be held for the artists at 7 p.m. on September 2. Visitors are welcome to view the exhibit during gallery hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call Ed Thornburg, gallery curator, at (765) 973-8605 or visit www.iue.edu/gallery.
