IU East, G101.3 High School Volunteer of the Month announced for May

Ross Bohlander received the IU East and G101.3 High School Volunteer of the Month award, presented by G1013’s Hoover.

Indiana University East and G101.3 radio station today (June 18) announced Ross Bohlander as the High School Volunteer of the Month for May. The program honors area high school students for their service in the community.

Bohlander of Milton, Ind., attends Lincoln High School. He was nominated for his volunteer service in the community including with Gleanor’s Food Pantry; the Cambridge City Christian Church food pantry; ringing the bell for The Salvation Army at Cutshaw’s Grocery; and helping to assemble the community Easter egg hunt for Cambridge City Christian Church.

At Lincoln High School, Bohlander is involved in organizations including as a member of the Key Club; he assists with the after prom committee including with the after school movie fundraiser nights, middle school winter dance and sock hop fundraiser; and he received the student of the month in humanities class.

Bohlander also helps his family, including mowing the grass for his grandmother. He is known for being kind-hearted, always has a smile on his face and for being an excellent student.

As the May High School Volunteer of the Month, Bohlander will receive an IU East $250 scholarship.

IU East and G101.3 will recognize one student each month with the High School Volunteer of the Month award. Nominees should be high school students, ages 19 and under, who exemplify the spirit of community service and volunteerism. Each month a panel will select one of the nominated volunteers.
