IU East Student Showcase
Indiana University East and Purdue University College of Technology in Richmond students now have their work on display in the Meijer Artway through Friday, May 10. Students exhibiting work were in fine arts classes at IU East during the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters.

Indiana University East recognized several faculty and staff with awards for their service to the university during the Honors Convocation ceremony held April 25.
Ange Cooksey, senior lecturer in humanities, is this year’s recipient of the Helen Lees Award, established in 1991. Professor Emeritus Lees passed away in 1992, but her spirit continues in this annual award to honor a full-time faculty member who has taught at least 10 semesters at IU East.

The pinning ceremony for Indiana University East nursing graduates on Friday, May 10, begins at 2 p.m. with a slide show followed by the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. The annual ceremony for nursing students will be held at the Ligthhouse Assembly of God, located at 2339 West Cart Road in Richmond.

Friday, December 7th
Indiana University East hosted its Annual High School Speech Tournament on December 1. Warren Central High School was the team sweepstakes champion, the second year in a row for the team to win the overall competition at IU East. Warren Central was followed by Cathedral in second; Noblesville in third; Southport in fourth; and Connersville in fifth. There were 249 students from 14 Indiana regional high schools that competed in 14 speech events and one Congress debate event.

The Indiana University East Honors Program inducted 66 students, its largest group to date, during the annual Honors Induction and Pinning Ceremony held November 15 in Vivian Auditorium. The Honors Program is an academic program that provides an intellectually enriched curriculum for highly-motivated students.
