Indiana University East is continuing to break records with enrollment and credit hours based on census figures released today (January 18) for spring semester.
Compared to this same time last year, IU East student enrollment (3,348) increased 12.5 percent in headcount and 12.4 percent in credit hours (33,298.5). Both figures are historic highs for spring semester enrollment at IU East. The headcount enrollment is an increase of 373 additional students compared to the same time last year.

The following is the fall 2011 Chancellor’s List. The list is sorted by the student’s listed hometown.

Indiana University East’s continued growth has resulted in another semester of record-breaking enrollment. Student enrollment (3,725) has increased by 10.7 percent this fall semester, while student credit hours (36,590.5) increased 9.5 percent over last fall. Both figures are new record highs for the campus, breaking marks set last fall.

Indiana University East will welcome the Class of 2015 on Tuesday, August 23, to celebrate the start of the academic year.
New students to IU East are enrolled in First-Year Seminar, a University College course for first-year students to help them succeed in college.

Ann Barrett is the 2011 Lilly Endowment Scholarship award recipient for Union County. She will attend Indiana University East this fall to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Barrett graduated from Union County High School. A native of Liberty, Ind., Barrett now resides in Richmond. She is the daughter of James and Dodi Barrett.

Cameron Cox is the Indiana University East recipient of the 2011 Indiana University Presidential Scholar award. IU awards the Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars award to incoming students at each campus. Cox is the campus’ sixth Presidential Scholar. He graduated from Monroe Central High School and was the valedictorian of his class.

Brittany Anderson and Felicia Chagdes have been chosen as the 2011 Lingle Scholars. The scholarship award will continue throughout their pursuit of a four-year degree at Indiana University East.
Anderson and Chagdes are both from Richmond, Ind., and graduated from Richmond High School in June 2011. Each graduated with honors and earned Academic Excellence.
