Faculty and staff excellence awards presented at Honors Convocation
Friday, May 3rdIndiana University East recognized several faculty and staff with awards for their service to the university during the Honors Convocation ceremony held April 25.
Ange Cooksey, senior lecturer in humanities, is this year’s recipient of the Helen Lees Award, established in 1991. Professor Emeritus Lees passed away in 1992, but her spirit continues in this annual award to honor a full-time faculty member who has taught at least 10 semesters at IU East.

IU East School of Nursing pinning ceremony is May 10
Thursday, May 2ndThe pinning ceremony for Indiana University East nursing graduates on Friday, May 10, begins at 2 p.m. with a slide show followed by the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. The annual ceremony for nursing students will be held at the Ligthhouse Assembly of God, located at 2339 West Cart Road in Richmond.

IU East School of Nursing Gala to celebrate excellence in nursing
Friday, August 31stThe Indiana University East School of Nursing will honor three individuals with Nursing Excellence Awards during its upcoming gala “Celebration of Caring: Toasting a Legacy” from 6-10 p.m. on September 28. The nursing gala will be held at J&J Winery.

IU East SIFE team wins Regional Championship
Friday, April 13thThe Indiana University East Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team won a regional championship in its league during the SIFE United States Regional Competition Exposition held April 10 in Cincinnati.
IU East students on the team are James Healton and Shawna Sparks, both of Centerville, Ind., Ryan Doughty of Richmond, Nick Miller of Winchester, Brittany Hostetler of Camden, Ohio, and Rick McKinney and Megan Winn, both of Eaton, Ohio.

Friday, March 2ndIU East receives ADDY, AEAA Awards
Indiana University East received several awards from the 27th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report, including a gold, bronze, and four merit awards. The national competition recognizes the fields of admissions marketing and advertising.
IU East announces High School Speech Tournament Results
Friday, December 16thIndiana University East hosted its Annual High School Speech Tournament on December 10 in Whitewater Hall. Warren Central High School was the team sweepstakes champion. Over 200 students from 14 Indiana regional high schools competed in 14 events.
